|Macon County Trap Team Competes in TNSCTP State Regional Event|

The Macon County Trap team joined over 500 athletes from the middle Tennessee region to compete in the 2013 Tennessee Scholastic Clay Target Division 2 Regional competition held at the Big Springs Clay Targets Complex in Christiana, TN.
This is the fifth straight year the team has competed in the TNSCTP competition with this year’s team once again posting a strong performance.
In the team category, the Macon County Senior Varsity team hit 477 of 500 targets to finish 2nd overall. Ryan Minchey led the Senior Varsity team with a team high score of 97 with Kelsey Bullington and Kelsey Cook both posting scores of 96 followed by Dalton Driver and Brock Rutan with scores of 94. Grant Towns posted a score of 93 to lead the Junior Varsity Team (437) to a third place finish with Daniel Holland posting an 89, Hunter Dyer 88, Mason Gunter 85 and Jordan Gentry 81.
In the squad category, the Macon County Junior Varsity squad of Grant Towns, Daniel Holland, Mason Gunter, Jordan Gentry and Hunter Dyer finished 3rd with a 437. In the Senior Varsity division, Macon County’s Squad 2 of Jon Tucker, Kelsey Bullington, Kelsey Cook, Ryan Minchey and Eli Doss finished fourth with an overall score of 468. Senior Varsity Squad 1 members Colton Kirby, Jackson Sircy, Dalton Driver, Brock Rutan and David Richardson finished ninth with a 451.
Individually, Kelsey Cook and Kelsey Bullington tied for 2nd in the Senior Varsity Women’s Division with both posting a score of 94. Ryan Minchey tied for 3rd place in the Senior Varsity Men’s Division with a 97.
Honors also go to Ryan Minchey for achieving his first 50 straight targets in a competition and Jon Tucker, Brock Rutan, and Daniel Holland all achieving their first 25 straight competition targets.
The team and coaches offer special recognition and thanks to Tyler Knight who although injured, competed in a wheelchair, posting a score of 85. Tyler has worked through injury for the past few weeks to be able to rejoin the team and compete in the regional event.
