Best wishes to the Macon County High, Red Boiling High, Westmoreland High, Portland High, and Monroe County Kentucky high graduates. You have finally arrived, and you are to be complimented. We love each of you.
I’m a reader. Being a reader I come across some words of wisdom, as well as humorous material, which I want to share from time to time with my readers. Today’s Rural Viewpoints includes “Meet The Tater Family” and “Three Things To Ponder”. I’m not aware of who wrote the forgoing, but I enjoyed reading them and I hope my readers do too. Thee are no slurs intended. Grow up! Meet The Tater Family Some people never seem motivated to participate, but are just content to watch while others do the work. They are called “Speck Taters.” Some people never do anything to help, but are gifted at finding fault with the way others work. They are called “Commen Taters.” Some people are very bossy and like to tell others what to do, but don’t want to soil their own hands. They are called “Dick Taters.” Some people are always looking to cause problems by asking others to agree with them. They are called “Agie Taters.” There are those who say they will help, but somehow just never get around to actually doing anything. They are called “Hezzie Taters.” Some people can put up a front and pretended to be someone they are not. They are called “Emma Taters.” Then there are those who love others and do what they say they will. They are always prepared to stop whatever they are doing and lend a helping hand. They bring real sunshine into the lives of others. They are called “Sweet Taters.”
1) Cows, 2) The Constitution, 3) The Ten Commandments
THE CONSTITUTION – They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don’t we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, and we’re not using it anymore. THE 10 COMMANDMENTS – The real reason that we can’t have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this: You cannot post “Thou Shalt Not Steal”, Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery”, and “Thou Shall Not Lie”, in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians…It creates a hostile work environment. |
