Officer Danny Meador, of the Lafayette Police Department, pulled over 44-year-old Vickie Faye Wix on Friday night, April 12, for running a stop sign at the intersection of Franklin Road and Sneed Blvd. “ Officer Meador had probable cause to stop Ms. Wix,” said Detective Jason Roberts, “and after a consent to search, he arrested her at the scene on numerous charges and carried her to the Macon County Jail.”

According to the report, the suspect, who lives on Old Highway 52 in Lafayette, gave Officer Meador permission to search her vehicle and he found an open container of alcohol, six needles, two straws, and several pills (some were already crushed).

“Ms. Wix told Officer Meador she had taken hydrocodone and Xanax,” stated Detective Roberts.”

She was charged with driving under the influence, possession of a Schedule IV drug, possession of drug paraphernalia and she was also cited for open container, running a stop sign, driving on a revoked license and financial responsibility.

A General Sessions Court date is scheduled for Wednesday, May 8.
