Officer Terminated from RBS Police Department

In less than 20 minutes, the Red Boiling Springs City Council voted to terminated Red Boiling Springs Assistant Chief of Police Doug McDonald, increase garbage rates and approve the drafting of an ordinance to increase water and sewer rates during a Special Called Meeting held on Monday, August 23.

Macon Flood Road Damage Estimated at $500,000

As heavy rains pelted Middle Tennessee last Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, and flood warnings flashed across the television screen, fear of a repeat of the May floods became a concern for the folks in Macon County. With more than seven inches of rain falling between that time period, and another three inches in the wee hours of Thursday morning, August 19th, roads were washed outs, schools were closed, and residents were on stand by to seek higher ground.

'Moonlighting' Discussed by Board of Education

It was a full house when the Macon County Board of Education met in regular session on August 19th. Questions were raised on moonlighting, cell phone expenses, driver’s texting while driving, student enrollment from other counties, school property lines and hickory nut hazards. Teacher to pupil ratio was a huge concern, especially at the Kindergarten level.

Macon Man Killed in Tragic Accident

A 31-year-old Macon County man was killed and another seriously injured, in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 10 South, in Trousdale County, during the early morning hours of Sunday, August 22nd, 2010.
