The phone rang at the Macon County Dog Shelter early Monday morning, and County Animal Control Officer Wayne Carver, and City Animal Control Officer Gene Turner, were called to the corner of Akersville and Brooks Road to rescue a Retriever Mix that been stuck in mud and water for two or three days before the owners could locate her.
