The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. with Trooper William Head responding to the scene at Highway 31E and Rock Bridge Road in Castalian Springs. Authorities stated that the ambulance was not running emergency traffic lights when the crash occurred and Macon County emergency personnel were on board.
