Also coming out on top were candidates Kelly T. Keisling (R) and David R. Harper (D), in the race for State Representative for the 38th District. State/District-wide results show that Senator Corker received 389,483 of the Republican votes, and Democratic candidate Mark Clayton received 48,126. Corker beat out four other party opponents, while Clayton overcame six of his Democratic adversaries. Congresswoman Diane Black received 44,933 6th Congressional District votes, while her party opponent, Lou Ann Zelenik, received 19,831 votes. No Democratic Party candidate filed in this race. In the race for State Representative for the 38th District, Republican candidate Kelly Keisling received 1,227 votes, while Democratic Party candidate David R. Harper received 266 votes. Both candidates faced no opponents within their parties. Macon County State Primary Election results fell in line with the state majority, naming Corker and Clayton in the race for Senate, Black for Congress, and Keisling and Harper for State Representative. In the Macon County General Election, incumbent and sole candidate for Assessor of Property, Rick Shoulders, won with 99.87% of the votes, and Incumbent for Road Supervisor, Audie Cook, beat out opponent Charles ‘Chop’ Porter by 1,078 votes. In the race for school board, Rebekah Tuttle received 61.11% of the votes for Districts 5 & 6, Jeff Harper received 47.17% of the votes for Districts 7 & 8 and Steve Walton, sole candidate for Districts 9 & 10, received 99.69% of the votes in his district. Sole candidate and newly elected Constable for Districts 9 & 10, Jeff Lambert, received 99.25% of the votes in his district. A total of 2,806 Macon Countians, or 21.27% of Macon County registered voters, cast their ballots in the 2012 State Primary & County General Election.
