A report filed by the investigating officer, THP Trooper Gerald Carter, stated that 24-year-old Kimberly L. Meeks, of Madison, Tennessee, was traveling north on Rocky Mound Road in a 2009 Ford, when her vehicle veered off the left side of the road, hit a ditch and rolled over coming to final rest on its top. Ms. Meeks was carried by ground ambulance to Frito Lay, where West Macon Rescue secured a landing zone for Air Evac. The injured driver was transferred to the waiting helicopter, which was destined for Vanderbilt Medical Center, in Nashville, Tennessee. A Vanderbilt spokesperson confirmed that Ms. Meeks was released on Sunday, August 19th. Trooper Carter charged Kimberly Meeks with running a stop sign, failure to exercise due care, carried and exhibited on demand and no insurance. Responders included the Macon County Sheriffs Department, Tennessee Highway Patrol, West Macon Rescue, Westmoreland Fire & Rescue, Macon County EMS, Sumner County EMS, and the Macon County Chronicle. |
