During the afternoon event, a variety of fall-inspired activities are scheduled at no cost for children and adults, including storytelling, face painting, apple bobbing, photos with your favorite fall characters, musical entertainment, pumpkin painting, corn hole, a fire truck display and a Halloween costume contest.

Free balloons will also given away at Macon Bank & Trust, the Macon County Sheriffs Department will be displaying the D.A.R.E Paddy Wagon, Citizens Bank will be hosting a duck pond for kids and there will be games for children on the courthouse lawn.

In the spirit of the season of giving, a total of $500 in cash will also be given away to present drawing winners and winners of the costume contest, and each of the local businesses participating the event will offer special Fall Funfest deals and discounts to consumers.

Costume contest judging will take place at 1:30 p.m. on the courthouse lawn and storytelling will be held at McClard’s Gifts and Macon Department Store. Each of the participating businesses will also have its own unique scarecrow on display!

Cash Drawings totaling $500 will be given away at 2 p.m. on the courthouse lawn. To enter, register at any of the participating merchants beginning Monday, October 22. Participating merchants include the Macon County Chronicle, Johnson’s Jewelers, Cathy’s Flowers & Gifts, Indigo Blues, Macon Department Store, Gibson’s Café, Macon Bank & Trust, Citizens Bank, McClard’s Gifts, Healing Hands of Peace Ministry, Inspirations, Eden’s Knives & Collectibles and All About Sports.

Entertainers scheduled to perform include Randy East, Cherry Cole, Miles Gibson, and Brenda Blankenship.

So mark your calendars for Fall Funfest on the Square on Saturday, October 27th, and pack up the lawn chairs for an afternoon of family fun and fantastic discounts at your favorite local businesses!
