Chief Jenkins said when his crew arrived the fire had gotten into the attic and the vinyl siding home was already 50% involved. “I had eleven men at the scene of the fire,” the chief said, “and when I requested aid from the Lafayette Fire Department, Chief Scruggs sent six firefighters and a tanker.”

Melanie Davile was listed as the occupant of the one story home, which Chief Jenkins says was a total loss.
