In the narrative provided by THP Trooper Tracy Donoho, Vehicle #1 was a blue Ford F150 pickup truck driven by 42-year-old Justin Wix, of Lafayette. Vehicle #2 was a black non-contact Ford Ranger driven by 26-year-old Christopher Hancock, of Lafayette. Vehicle #3 was a blue Dodge pickup being operated by 19-year-old Jerry Page, of Celina.
Apparently Justin Wix was traveling south on the Akersville Road while Hancock and Page were traveling north. As Wix was coming across a small rise in the roadway, Hancock was making a left hand turn into the apartment parking lot in the Twin Lanes vicinity.
“Wix lost control of his Ford pickup and traveled over the center line striking the Dodge pickup that Page was operating,” said Trooper Donoho. “Page’s truck came to rest at the area of impact and Hancock’s Ranger came to a stop in the parking lot.”
However, after impact Wix’s vehicle continued traveling south and came to rest in a drive way on Twins Lane. “They had to extricate Wix from his vehicle,” added Trooper Donoho, “and he was airlifted to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. Luckily, Wix was the only individual that was injured.”
According to Trooper Donoho this is an on-going investigation. A spokesperson at Vanderbilt told the Macon County Chronicle on Monday afternoon, that Justin WIx is still hospitalized and is listed in stable condition.
First responders were: Tennessee Highway Patrol, Macon County EMS, Macon County Sheriffs Office, Lafayette Police Department, Macon County Rescue Squad, Lafayette Fire Department, and the Macon County Chronicle.
Trooper Donoho was the crash investigator and was assisted by Trooper Justin Mote.
