|52nd Annual Fall Meet Antique Car Show Saturday, Sept. 6|
|Tuesday, August 26, 2008|
The highly anticipated Annual Fall Meet Antique Car Show, sponsored by the Middle Tennessee Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America, is coming back to Red Boiling Springs once again on Saturday, August 6.
Taking over the 10-acre lawn of the historic Thomas House Hotel, the all-day car show offers entries into 63 judging classes with three awards per class.
Six special awards including ‘Best Original,’ ‘Best Modified,’ and ‘Hard Luck Award,’ will also be given away.
Last year’s event brought over 5,000 visitors to Macon County and boasted the entry of more than 500 cars, and this year’s show is expected to bring about an equally impressive turnout.
Merchandise, food vendors and a flea market, where collectibles and one-of-a-kind finds are endless, will be on-site for the entirety of the event.
“They’ll be everything from antiques and jewelry to automotive items,” said Thomas House Hotel Proprietor Evelyn Cole.
The Thomas House Hotel will also be serving an all-you-can-eat buffet style lunch in the dining room beginning at 11 a.m. The cost of the meal will be $12 per person, plus tax.
Set in the backdrop of Red Boiling Springs’ three historic hotels, the antique car show allows all who attend the opportunity to step back in time for the day.
“It’s the nostalgia that makes it so popular,” Cole said. “Looking at all the beautiful cars and remembering the past is what most people love about the show. We’d like to welcome everyone to come out, bring their lawn chairs, relax and enjoy themselves. We hope to see everyone there and would love for everyone to come have lunch with us.”
For out of town guests, there are still rooms available at the Thomas House Hotel, the Donoho Hotel and the Armour’s Red Boiling Springs Hotel.
Cars will begin to register and line-up for the show at 7 a.m.
