After a sealed indictment was handed down by a Macon County Grand Jury during its October term, 34-year-old Gena Deshea Satterfield, of 1100 Barber Hollow Rd. in Hartsville, Tenn., was arrested on charges of theft of services (1 ct.) and TennCare Fraud (1 cts.) on Oct. 9.
According to the indictment, Satterfield obtained TennCare medical services for both her, and her two children, by deception and fraud by intentionally not reporting her income, or that of her spouse (former Lafayette Police Department Detective Bryon Satterfield), which would have rendered her and her children ineligible for TennCare medical services and benefits.
The value of the TennCare medical benefits unlawfully obtained by Satterfield between November of 2002 and November of 2007 now total $34,272.52.
The TennCare Fraud charge Satterfield is being held on $10,000 bond and is set to appear in General Sessions Court on February 2nd.
