The money that the county gets back from the recycled metal will go towards paying the 12% of of the cost of clean-up that the county will be responsible for, commissioners voted unanimously.

TEMA has found someone to haul away the wood chips at the landfill, free of charge, Linville told commissioners.

57 Year Old Joan Rodriquez passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2008Macon County tornado victim Joan Steenbergen Dawes Rodriquez, who was critically injured in the deadly February 5th storms, passed away at 3:03 a.m. on Thursday, March 13 at Macon County General Hospital, in Lafayette.

Rodriquez, of Long Creek Rd. in Lafayette, was 57 years old at the time of her death. After receiving treatment at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Rodriguez was moved to The Palace nursing home in Red Boiling Springs before being later transferred to Macon County General.

A native of Allen County, Kentucky, Rodriquez was a waitress at the Stockyard Café, a substitute teacher for the Macon County School System, and employee at the Macon County Golf Course and a member of the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.

Macon County Man Pleads Guilty To TennCare Fraud PDF Print E-mail

Richard Michael JentMacon County resident Richard Michael Jent, 38, pled guilty to charges of TennCare fraud during a Circuit Court hearing on Monday, February 4.

Jent is accused of intentially failing to tell the state that he was enrolled in employer-sponsored health insurance, which would have made him ineligible for TennCare and receiving TennCare medical benefits of $11,588.36 and  $1,457.26 in pharmacy benefits.
