School Board Freezes Out-of-County Enrollment PDF Print E-mail

When the Macon County Board of Education members met in regular session on Thursday, October 7th, they decided to freeze out-of-town enrollment due to the crowded conditions in the Macon County School System. A motion was made by John Wheeley and seconded by Steve Walton to revise Policy 6.204 Attendance on Non-Resident Students with the amendment that all Board employees’ children are grandfathered in, which passed on first reading.

Stolen Four-Wheelers Recovered in Burglary PDF Print E-mail

Two four-wheelers, recently reported stolen by a Macon County resident, were recovered after Barren County, Kentucky, deputies arrested three men involved in the burglary of the Haywood Country Store (Z-Mart) in Glasgow on September 22nd.

Two Macon County immigrant workers are dead and two remain in critical condition this week at Vanderbilt Medical Center, in Nashville, following a Tuesday afternoon, September 28th, head on collision at the intersection of Highway 10 North and Cold Springs Road.

RBS Youth Paralyzed in Wreck PDF Print E-mail

Allen Cook, a 2009 graduate of RBS High, and grandson of Jimmy and Janie Cook of Red boiling Springs was seriously injured on Monday afternoon, September 13, while a passenger in a pick-up driven by a friend. The accident occurred on a rural road in Macon County.
