Four Charged with TennCare Fraud PDF Print E-mail

Four people in Macon County are charged with TennCare fraud involving prescription drugs.

The Office of Inspector (OIG) today announced the arrests, which were a joint effort with the 15th Judicial Drug Task Force, Macon County Sheriff’s Office, and Red Boiling Springs Police Department. 

“The OIG was formed because Tennesseans were tired of this activity going unchecked in a program as important as TennCare,” Inspector General Deborah Y. Faulkner said.  “We’re one of the few units of this kind in the nation, and it brings a high level of integrity to our public health program.”

County Mourns Loss of Ronnie Krantz PDF Print E-mail

Ronnie Neal Krantz, gave up his courageous battle with cancer at the age of 56, on on Sunday, November 1st.  Fellow comrades from the Lafayette Police Department stood guard by his coffin at Alexander Funeral Home in honor of his 30 years of service in law enforcement.

2 a.m. Blaze Injures Three PDF Print E-mail

An early morning blaze on Thursday, October 29th, at 100 Chad Lane, in the Siloam Community, gutted a mobile home that belonged to Buddy Ward, and sent three to the hospital with smoke inhalation. Westmoreland and Lafayette Fire Departments were dispatched to the scene around 2:00 a.m. last week, battling the flames for at least a couple of hours as the fire smoldered till almost daybreak.
