Nestle Donates Land for New Air Evac Helipad PDF Print E-mail

Time is critical, especially for someone in need of a quick transport to an emergency facility, which could possibly take over an hour to drive by vehicle. Since Air Evac made their home in Macon County, a few years ago, they have found a place to land in numerous areas throughout the county, although hazards seem to grow with uncharted territory.

Appeal Denied in Ladd Case PDF Print E-mail

Former Macon County physician Robert Ladd recently appeared before the Court of Criminal Appeals of Tennessee, in Nashville, to appeal the denial for pretrial diversion, refused to him by the Assistant District Attorney General (ADA) in 2006.
Ladd’s appeal from Macon County Criminal Court, was denied by the Appellate Court, which affirmed the ADA’s denial of pretrial diversion.

13-Year-Old Macon County Girl Missing PDF Print E-mail

A Middle Tennessee Endangered Child Alert has been activated at the request of the Macon County Sheriff's Office for 13 year-old Judi Juarez.

Judi is a Hispanic female, with black hair and brown eyes. She is 4'6" tall and weighs 100 lbs.

4th Annual Ferrell Meador Apple Festival Sept. 19th PDF Print E-mail

Knollwood Manor and The White House Assisted Living is inviting everyone in the community to take part in the 4th Annual Ferrell Meador Apple Festival on Sept. 19th beginning at 10 a.m.

Taking place outside The White House Assisted Living facility in Lafayette, a variety of apple themed events are planned for guests to enjoy beginning with cider making, apple sampling, craft demonstrations and sales and a variety of items for sale including antiques, novelty items and, of course, apples.

Music, provided by Cumberland River Bluegrass, will also be performed live throughout the afternoon, and guests will be invited to sign up to enter horseshoe pitching and corn hole contests.

In the news today, we often hear about war and conflict across the four corners of the world, and little three year old Thomas Gunter, is in a battle of his own, facing a very strong opponent, called leukemia, which is a disease of the blood or bone marrow. In his struggle to defeat this form of cancer, which is characterized by the rapid increase of immature blood cells, people are rallying by his side, devoting their time, faith, and tremendous attitude of love to help this little fellow rise above this unforeseen obstacle suddenly in his path and bring a smile back to his face and laughter in his heart. With faithful friends and relatives, to light the way toward recovery with an ocean of mercy, let’s all pray that Thomas will be blessed with a bright future ahead of him.
