Missing RBS Girl Found in Alabama PDF Print E-mail

Thirteen-year-old Judi Juarez, who was reported missing by her parents from their Red Boiling Springs home last week, was found in Huntsville, Alabama, the day after a Middle Tennessee AMBER Alert was activated at the request of the Macon County Sheriffs Department.

Juarez was found at a Huntsville residence with 22-year-old Jose Martin Cano, who was arrested by law enforcement officers on charges of kidnapping.

In honor of the September 11th tragedy that shook our nation eight years ago and the brave men and women who lost their lives that day, the Macon County Chronicle wishes to take the opportunity to show our appreciation for the local men and women that put their own lives on the line each day to protect and assist the residents of our community.

We have dedicated a publication entitled 'Surrounded by Heroes' to the law enforcement officers, rescue workers, doctors, nurses, firefighters, soldiers, emergency responders, dispatchers and volunteers who selflessly serve us, and Macon County, when we need them most.

Elementary School Teacher Suspended PDF Print E-mail

The Macon County Department of Education issued a news release Monday, September 21st, announcing that a Central Elementary School teacher has been suspended, pending a school board hearing, for “unprofessional conduct” under Tennessee Annotated School Law 49-5-51, which states the causes for which a teacher may be dismissed as: incompetence, neglect of duty, unprofessional conduct and insubordination.

Nestle Donates Land for New Air Evac Helipad PDF Print E-mail

Time is critical, especially for someone in need of a quick transport to an emergency facility, which could possibly take over an hour to drive by vehicle. Since Air Evac made their home in Macon County, a few years ago, they have found a place to land in numerous areas throughout the county, although hazards seem to grow with uncharted territory.
