After his capture in Mexico, Daniel Glenn Carr was returned to Macon County on Wednesday, June 17, to face charges of three counts of Violation of Community Supervision and one count of Violation of the Sex Offender Registry Act.

The Dog Pound Debate: Commissions Voice Opinions on County Mayor's Role in Hiring Dog Catcher PDF Print E-mail

When the Macon County Legislative Body met in regular session on Monday night, June 15, the issue of finishing the dog pound and hiring a dogcatcher was up for debate.

At the previous Committee of the Whole Meeting held June 1st, a motion was made and passed on to the Legislative Body, calling for Mayor Linville to hire a dogcatcher and take care of the day-to-day operation of the dog pound.

A crowd estimated at over 6,000 people came from near and far this past weekend for the Lions Club 34th Annual Macon County Hillbilly Days at Key Park, here in Lafayette, to once again enjoy three fun-filled days and nights of music, games, good food, and seeing old friends and neighbors.
