RBS Council Schedules Work Session to Discuss Sanitation PDF Print E-mail

Members of the Red Boiling Springs City Council met in regular session on Thursday, April 8, with the top item up for discussion being the second and final reading of Ordinance #10-2, which would cancel all city dumpster service.

During the meeting, which was led by Vice Mayor John Cook in the absence of Mayor Kenneth Hollis, Cook announced that he had recently received feedback from several owners of the 12 businesses and residents that would be affected by the ordinance.

$3,200 Needed for $10,000 Worth of Equipment: County Ponders Rescue Squad Request PDF Print E-mail

Captain Thomas O’Saile, of the volunteer West Macon Rescue Squad, provided an update for county commissioners on receiving rescue cutters, “They will be a great asset. They’re the only cutters in the county with enough pressure to cut boron steel.”

He reported receiving a call from a Nestle Waters representative and being offered a $5,000 matching grant.  O’Saile told commissioners that the volunteer squad had raised $1800, that can go toward the match, and asked if they (county) would be willing to put up the remainder.  If the county will invest $3200 they will have $10,000 of equipment for our squad.

Mother of Three Arrested on Drug & Weapon Charges PDF Print E-mail

Macon County Sheriffs Department Deputy Donnie Crawford assisted a Department of Children’s Services caseworker during a visit to the home of Wanda Winslett on Friday, April 9, where the mother of three was arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule VI drug (over one ounce), unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Father & Son Arrested for Thefts: GPS Tracking Device Puts Son at Crime Scene PDF Print E-mail

Forty-eight-year-old Steven Page and his 20-year-old son Brandon, were arrested and charged with theft of property (two counts) and criminal trespassing on March 30 after Macon County Sheriffs Department Sergeant Larry West pulled the men over in a vehicle fitting the description of a truck used in two thefts on Maxie Bluff Rd.

Husband of Misty Scott Arrested in Kentucky PDF Print E-mail

The investigation continues into the death of 20-year-old Misty Page Scott, who was found dead in a pond on Murray Hill Lane, Sunday, March 28, but in a strange turn of events, her husband, Cody Scott, a person of interest in this case, has been arrested and is being held without bond in the Barren County Kentucky Correctional Center, on unrelated drug charges.
