During the early a.m. hours on Saturday, June 27th, Lafayette Police discovered over $1,400 worth of stolen Walmart merchandise inside a vehicle being operated by 27-year-old Chris Carr of Westmoreland.

Lightning struck the multi-story brick home of Danny and Fredia Fisher on 1106 Hightower Road on Friday afternoon.  Firefighters arrived on the scene at 5 pm and continued the fight to save as much as possible until 11 p.m.

The Dog Pound Debate: Commissions Voice Opinions on County Mayor's Role in Hiring Dog Catcher PDF Print E-mail

When the Macon County Legislative Body met in regular session on Monday night, June 15, the issue of finishing the dog pound and hiring a dogcatcher was up for debate.

At the previous Committee of the Whole Meeting held June 1st, a motion was made and passed on to the Legislative Body, calling for Mayor Linville to hire a dogcatcher and take care of the day-to-day operation of the dog pound.
