Forty-seven-year-old Robert Glenn Tanner, of Portland, was charged with three counts of criminal exposure to HIV, the virus that can lead to AIDS, after allegedly exposing his girlfriend to the virus without her knowledge or consent.

The new Leon and Marie Cothron Macon County Welcome Center, located at 685 Hwy. 52 By Pass West, is nearing completion in Lafayette. It’s hard to believe this beautiful 4,000 square foot project officially began over five years ago, in 2003, when then Chamber President Phillip Baker, appointed Paul Thompson to chair the Chamber’s Long Term Planning Committee.

Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), the nation’s largest provider of corrections management services to state, federal and local government, announced it has temporarily suspended construction on the new 2,040 bed prison in Trousdale County, that it began building last summer.
