Massive Stroke Claims Life of Judge PDF Print E-mail

Judge J.O. Bond died Wednesday, December 31, 2008, from complications of a massive stroke he’d suffered the day before. Bond, 70, of Lebanon, Tennessee, presided over the 15th Judicial District Criminal Court and handled cases in Wilson, Trousdale, Macon, Smith and Jackson Counties.

Senior Center Included as MCGH Alternate Care Site in Emergency Operations Plan PDF Print E-mail

Macon County General Hospital and The Macon County Senior Citizens Center have entered into an agreement allowing Macon County General to include the center as alternate care site as part of the hospital’s Emergency Operations plan.  In the event of a disaster such as the February tornadoes, patients with minor injuries, cuts, and bruises, can be sent to an alternate care site established and staffed by hospital personnel.

Trousdale County Declared Primary Disaster Area PDF Print E-mail

Senators Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) and Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) and U.S. Representatives David Davis (R-Tenn. 1), John Duncan, Jr. (R-Tenn. 2), Zach Wamp (R-Tenn. 3),  Lincoln Davis (D-Tenn. 4), and Bart Gordon (D-Tenn. 6) today announced that U.S. Agriculture Secretary Edward T. Schafer has declared seven counties in Tennessee as disaster areas due to losses caused by drought.  According to Secretary Schafer’s declaration, “This designation makes farm operators in both primary and contiguous counties eligible to be considered for assistance from the Farm Service Agency (FSA), provided eligibility requirements are met.”
