After a sealed indictment was handed down by a Macon County Grand Jury during its October term, 34-year-old Gena Deshea Satterfield, of 1100 Barber Hollow Rd. in Hartsville, Tenn., was arrested on charges of theft of services (1 ct.) and TennCare Fraud (1 cts.) on Oct. 9.

Suspect Escapes in Attempted Robbery of Local Gas Station PDF Print E-mail

Two Arrested During 'Operation Green Sweep' PDF Print E-mail

Over the past few months, the Macon County Sheriffs Department has been cracking down on local marijuana operations; locating, harvesting and destroying hundreds upon hundreds of the illegal plants and investigating potential suspects during a project they have dubbed “Operation Green Sweep.” 

And while their county-wide mission remains active, two suspects have been recently arrested in connection to the manufacturing and processing of a substantial amount of marijuana.

RBS Council Requests Estimate for City Audit PDF Print E-mail

After a heated discussion about recently circulated city employee embezzlement rumors, the Red Boiling Springs City Council voted to contact the state comptroller’s office during its regular session meeting on Thursday, Oct. 9th, to request an estimate for a city audit.

While the city employees in question deny the allegations against them, the council elected to survey the cost of a comptroller audit to put an end to the rumors.

“I just want the phone calls to stop,” said council member Shelly Dean during the meeting. “We need to either find it (with an audit), or put it to bed.”
