The 52nd Fall Meet Antique Car Show  will be held in historic Red Boiling Springs, Tennessee at the Thomas House Hotel on Saturday, September 7th.  This antique car show is known as Tennessee’s oldest show sponsored by Middle Tennessee Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America. This show has been greatly expanded offering 61 classes of automobiles with over 400 cars expected.

Planning Commission Recommends Poultry House Impact Studies PDF Print E-mail

After hearing from a number of citizens in attendance at their August 19 meeting, the county’s regional planning committee agreed to recommend to county commissioners a temporary moratorium on the building of more poultry houses in the county until environmental, social, and property value impact studies can be done.

“This county’s adopted CAFO (confined animal feeding operations) regulations which are enforced by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and we can’t tell a farmer ‘you can’t put in a chicken house.’

The highly anticipated Annual Fall Meet Antique Car Show, sponsored by the Middle Tennessee Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America, is coming back to Red Boiling Springs once again on Saturday, August 6.

Taking over the 10-acre lawn of the historic Thomas House Hotel, the all-day car show offers entries into 63 judging classes with three awards per class.

Macon County Electric Bills to Increase this October PDF Print E-mail

The price of the electricity that Tri-County Electric buys from TVA is increasing because of rapid increases in fuel prices around the world.  Skyrocketing prices for fuels TVA uses to make electricity, such as coal, natural gas and power purchased from other energy suppliers, will cause wholesale electricity prices to increase about 20 percent effective October 1st.

Tri-County Electric member-owners use an average of 1300 kWh per month.  Based on average usage, their monthly electric bill will increase approximately $18.73.
