Mrs. Short was born in Clay Co., Tenn. on February 6, 1919, the daughter of the late Willie and Flora (Denton) Armer.

She was a Housewife and a member of the Hartsville Pike Church of Christ.

Mrs. Short is survived by 3 daughters: Anna Lee Cherry of Whitleyville, Tenn. Nina Dean Price of Indianapolis, Ind., Ritta Joan McPeak of Gallatin, Tenn.; 1 son, J. C. Short of Brentwood, Tenn.; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters: Essie Smith of Whitleyville, Tenn., and Wealtha Strong of Celina, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her son Charlie Short, Jr.; 5 sisters, Mertie Smith, Rudy Odle, Elease Moore, Lovie McLerran and Jewell McBride and 2 brothers, Sam Thomas and Delbert Armer.

Funeral service were conducted at Hall Funeral Home, in Celina, Tenn., at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2008 with Hubert Jones officiating.  Interment followed at Union Hill Cemetery.
