Viola Jewell Driver Cole, age 75 of Lafayette, TN, formerly of Monroe County, KY, passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette. She was born in Monroe County, KY on March 12, 1937 to the late James Edward Driver and Senia Krantz Driver. She was united in marriage on August 23, 1973 to Norman Cole. She was a retired factory worker for Carter Automotive and of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her husband Norman Cole of Lafayette, TN, three daughters and tow sons-in-law: Mylinda “Punkin” and Joey Hackett of Lafayette, T N, Jeannie and David Walker of Smyrna, TN, Lynn Scalf of Smyrna, TN, one son and daughter-in-law: Danny “Pee Wee” and Marlene Adams of Smithville, TN, two sisters: Bettye Hale and Janet Ramsey both of Lafayette, TN, one brother: Richard Edward Driver of Nashville, TN, special caregiver: Michelle Flaherty of Lafayette, TN, 8 Grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters: Ruth Taylor and Orilla Wilson and a son-in-law: Ricky Scalf. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 28 at 1 PM at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel with burial to follow in the Akersville Cemetery in Monroe County. Elder Joey Hackett and Bro. Kenny Sullivan officiating. Serving as pallbearers Dustin Hackett, Jordean Adams, Blaine Adams, Nick Walker, J.R. Scalf and Anthony Carr, honorary pallbearers Teddy Wayne Hale, Jerry Ramsey, employees at Carter Automotive and Friendship Home Health Employees. Visitation will be after 1 PM on Tuesday at Strode’s Gamaliel Chapel in Gamaliel. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Assoc.
