The Bulldogs forced the Wildcats to punt in the opening moments of the battle and returned that momentum to mark down the first score of the game by Isaiah Washington.
The Bulldogs worked their way down the field with their next possession, however a fumble at the 37 yard line, allowed the opponent to return the next few plays with a score in the endzone, Monterey 16, RBS 6. Late in the third period, Monterey had picked up another first down at the 13-yard line, when they fumbled the ball and the Bulldogs were there to pick it up. However, on the third play, Monterey intercepted the pass, which turned the ball back over. Red Boiling Springs worked hard to recover the blunder, and forced the Wildcats to punt.
Bulldog sophomore #7 Kason Wix brings down the Monterey Wildcat on the carry during the Homecoming game. The Bulldogs had possession starting out the fourth quarter at the 9-yard line in scoring territory. Washington tucked the ball safely in his arms and rushed to the endzone. Monterey was called for an offside penalty and the extra-point line of scrimmage was moved half the distance to the goal. Quarterback Cody Dickens was tossed a high snap, and fumbled the ball, however Washington found the ball, picked it up, and ran in the conversion to knot the game at 14.
RBS will travel to Jackson County on October 15. Host Friendship Christian October 22, and travel to Trousdale County on October 29 to conclude the 2010 season. |
