Red Boiling Springs High School vs. Pickett County, Murfreesboro Central, & Gordonsville, PDF Print E-mail

The Red Boiling Springs High School Basketball teams traveled to Pickett County on December 3, 2010.


In the girls game... The Lady Bulldogs led the opening quarter 18-14, and by halftime, they had sealed a 43-28 advantage over the Lady Bobcats. Each team recorded 16 points in the third quarter, however RBS was able to dominate the final period for a 75-57 win.


In the boys game... The Bulldogs were able to knot the game at 19 each before the halftime break, and by the end of the fourth period the second tie of the night (38 each) occurred before the final buzzer sounded, forcing an over-time period. Pickett County dominated the court 12-4, to claim a 50-42 victory over RBS.


On Saturday, Dec. 4, Red Boiling Springs traveled to Murfreesboro Central Magnet School and was able to return home with two victories.


In the girls game... The Lady Bulldogs exploded the opening quarter 20-4, and continued to dominate the court for a 46-12 advantage at halftime. The Red & Grey Lady Dawgs pressed forward throughout the last two periods for a final victory score of 71-25.


In the boys game... The Bulldogs were in charge from the opening jump, leading 35-4 after the first quarter over Central Magnet School. By halftime, RBS had continued to pour down the heat and entered the break with a 53-12 advantage. Each team marked ten points in the third quarter, and after the final round, the RBS Bulldogs had claimed their seventh victory, 75-26, over CMS.


On Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, the Red Boiling Springs Basketball teams traveled to Gordonsville for their ninth game of the season and their first District 8A challenge.


In the girls game...
The RBS Lady Bulldogs opened the first quarter with a 20-6 advantage, and by halftime the Red & Grey held a 36-16 lead over Gordonsville’s Lady Tigers. After the final two quarters of play, the Red Boiling Springs girls had claimed their ninth consecutive victory with a final score of 75-41 over Gordonsville.


During the game, Lady Bulldog Layce Colter broke the Red Boiling Springs High School record for accumulating the most three-point shots made in one game, totaling nine during the December 7th challenge. Congratulations Layce! Another record breaking moment from the win at Gordonsville, was the 500th High School Career Victory for Lady Bulldog Head Coach Larry White. Congrats Coach White!


In the boys game...
The Red Boiling Springs Bulldogs dropped to 2-6-0 after being outplayed in the overtime round against Gordonsville High School on Dec. 7th.


In the first quarter of play, RBS was trailing by two points after the first quarter, but before halftime, the Bulldogs were able to tie the game at 23 each. RBS fell behind four points in the third quarter, and returned to tie the game once more at 59 each before the fourth qtr. buzzer sounded. Gordonsville downed 11 points, and allowed the Bulldogs five, for the final win, GHS 70, RBS 64.
