Friendship Christian sits in last place in district 8A standings due mainly to a rash of injuries to three of their best players but they still had plans to seek revenge last Tuesday night as they got that revenge by beating Red Boiling Springs on the Lady Bulldogs home court 41-37.

This victory by Friendship really shakes up the district standings as The Lady Bulldogs now find themselves tied with Trousdale County with 3 wins and 3 losses for each school.

The Lady Commanders came out of the gate in the first half taking control early with their size advantage and their pressure defense to outscore the Lady Bulldogs 22-16 in the first half. The Lady Commanders scored 12 of their first half points with second and third offensive opportunities off the glass.
The Lady Bulldogs got first half scoring from Katie Hix with 7 points and 4 points from Mayson Burgener while Kristen Davis knocked down a long 3-pointer while leading scorer Morgan Burgener had only 2 points.

The Lady Bulldogs came out hot in the third quarter and due to their defensive pressure managed to get back in this game by scoring 11 points and trailed by only 3 points at 30-27 going into the fourth quarter. Katie Hix scored 4 points in the quarter to lead the Lady Bulldog attack.

The Lady Bulldogs would not go away in this game, and a basket by Kalisha Lynch cut the Friendship lead to one point at 30-29 early in the quarter. As it turned out this would be as close as the Lady Bulldogs would come to tying the game or taking a lead. The Lady Bulldogs’ Mayson Burgener would step to the free throw line with a 2-shot chance that would have tied this game, but she missed the second free throw and the Lady Commanders made 2 free throws with one minute left to go up 40-37. The Lady Bulldogs had chances to score at the end, but the shots would not fall, and Friendship took home a big win of 41-37.

Lady Bulldogs scoring for the game: Katie Hix-12 points, Mayson Burgener - 7 points, Kalisha Lynch and Morgan Burgener had 6 points each. Kristin Davis and Kelsey Jenkins had 3 points each.

The Lady Bulldogs travel to Picket County Friday night before returning home on Tuesday night to take on Trousdale County in what will be the most important game of the year up to this point.
