By: Wally Etheridge Friendship Christian sits in last place in district 8A standings due mainly to a rash of injuries to three of their best players but they still had plans to seek revenge last Tuesday night as they got that revenge by beating Red Boiling Springs on the Lady Bulldogs home court 41-37. This victory by Friendship really shakes up the district standings as The Lady Bulldogs now find themselves tied with Trousdale County with 3 wins and 3 losses for each school. The Lady Bulldogs would not go away in this game, and a basket by Kalisha Lynch cut the Friendship lead to one point at 30-29 early in the quarter. As it turned out this would be as close as the Lady Bulldogs would come to tying the game or taking a lead. The Lady Bulldogs’ Mayson Burgener would step to the free throw line with a 2-shot chance that would have tied this game, but she missed the second free throw and the Lady Commanders made 2 free throws with one minute left to go up 40-37. The Lady Bulldogs had chances to score at the end, but the shots would not fall, and Friendship took home a big win of 41-37. The Lady Bulldogs travel to Picket County Friday night before returning home on Tuesday night to take on Trousdale County in what will be the most important game of the year up to this point. |
