The scoring summary of the game goes something like this. With the buzzer going off to end the first quarter RBS fumbles the football, Clay County picked it up in the end zone for a touchdown, the extra point was good, Clay Co leads 7-0. With 5:15 to go in the second an interesting score by RBS occurred. CJ Taylor, normally a lineman, mauled his way in for a 7 yard touchdown, with an extra point by Dakota Dickens, and we were tied up 7-7. With 4:58 left in the second Clay County completed a 65yard pass for the score, extra point good making it 14-7. Yet again another buzzer beater play right before the half, Clay County picked off a pass and took it 70 yards for the score, extra point good making it 21-7 at the half. Although a loss, RBS played an excellent game. I caught up with head coach Kyle Shoulders after the game to ask what his thoughts were on the game, he answered,“ We played hard, but we were slow at times and had some mistakes. We also had opportunities but couldn’t capitalize on them” We then talked about the upcoming game against Tri Cities he said “They’ll be tough, but we can win! I haven’t won a homecoming game since I have been here so we are going to make this one the first!!” Everybody come out Friday September 21st and support the Bulldogs as they will entertain Tri Cities for their homecoming game. Game time is 7 p.m with homecoming ceremonies beginning at 6p.m. |
