Whenever The Lady Bulldogs and The Lady Blue Devils from Jackson County  tangle in any sport you can always count on the fans getting into the spirit of the game.

Last Monday night was no different as the Lady Bulldogs won a very exciting game over the visiting Lady Blue Devils by a final score of 4-3.

Let's go directly to the bottom half of the 5th inning which just happens to be the last inning in High School softball. The Lady Bulldogs found themselves trailing by 2 runs. With one out Kristen Stacey drew a walk and then stole second base on the first pitch. Shanna Jones singled to put the tying run on first base with 1 out. Abby Tuck ran for Jones and the next batter was Hannah Smith who drew a walk to load the bases with only 1 out and the Lady Bulldogs trailing by a 3-2 score.

The crowd was starting to sense a Lady Bulldog rally could win this game with the tying run at 3rd base and the winning run on second. Up stepped Olivia Atkins who coaxed a walk from the Lady Blue Devils pitcher and Mackenzie Sadler crossed home plate with the tying run and little Abby Tuck standing just 60ft. from home with the winning run. With Freshman Tuck standing on 3rd base and nervous as she can be up to the plate stepped Jenna Dziekiewicz with the bases loaded and the score tied and only 1 out. The Lady Blue Devils pulled their defense way in for a possible play at home but Dziekiewicz got the winning hit and Abby Tuck crossed home plate with the winning run. Lady Bulldogs win a thriller 4-3.

The Lady Bulldogs got their first run in the first inning on a walk to ShayleeEllingson who scored on a sac fly by Shanna Jones. Their second run came in the 3rd inning on a lead off hit by Katelyn Murphy who scored on a hit by Shanna Jones.

The Lady Bulldogs played great defense with outstanding plays coming from Sydney west along with Kristen Stacey plus Mackenzie Sadler and Olivia Atkins and Whitney Ellingson and Shaylee Ellingson. Hannah Smith pitched great for the Lady Bulldogs and she was credited with the win.

There was a JV game that followed and Jackson county won that game by a final score of 7-3. Mackenzie Sadler plus Sydney West andKatelyn Murphy all scored for the Lady Bulldogs. Shaylee Ellingson had a triple on a ball that hit the fence Mackenzie Sadler had 2 RBIs for the Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Bulldogs managed just 5 hits in this game and committed 5 errors.

The Lady Bulldogs will welcome The Lady Yellow Jackets to the Dog pound this Thursday night and that will be a heated and hard fought by both teams as the Jackets won the first game over the Lady Bulldogs at their field by a score of 6-5. Should be a great game.
