Charles Edward Perdue, 68

Charles Edward Perdue, age 68, of Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, May 03, 2008, at his residence.  Funeral services for Charles Edward Perdue will be conducted on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 4 p.m. from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Brother John Gregory officiating.

Charles PerdueJimmy Fishburn, Leslie Swindle, Gary Law, Billy Choates, Tim Smith, and Jimmy Glover served as honorary pallbearers.  Chad Cherry, Alan Sullivan, Duwayne Perdue, Travis Cothron, Dwight Dickens, and Shon Perdue, served as active pallbearers.  Interment will follow in the Underwood Cemetery.

Charles Edward Perdue was born on September 20, 1939 in Macon County, Tenn., to the late Ezra Mack and Dellie (Fox) Perdue.  He married the former Virginia Lee Meier on February 12, 1959, who survives.

Besides his parents, six brothers, Bill, Randall, James, Kenny, Tilmon, and Willard Perdue, two sisters, Elsie Wright, and Jewell Perdue preceded him in death.

Charles had been a self-employed carpenter for many years; he loved to fish and hunt in his spare time, and was of the Baptist belief.  

Besides his wife of forty-nine years, he is survived by; daughters, Brenda (Junior) Stafford, Nancy (Mike) Gregory, and Vickie (Raybon) Dickens all of Lafayette, Tenn., brothers, Roger Perdue of Hermitage Springs, Tenn., Steve Perdue of Scottsville, Ky., Hollis Perdue of Indianapolis, Ind., and Hillis Perdue of Indiana, sisters, Joann Davis, Virginia Knight, Mildred Cook all of Lafayette, Tenn., Gracie Wooten of Ind., Marie Haganschneider, Ohio, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren.
