Irene Coons Barnes, age 65, of the Hermitage Springs Community in Clay County, Tenn. passed away Thursday afternoon, Nov. 27, 2008, at the Palace in Red Boiling Springs, Tenn.
Graveside Services for Irene Coons Barnes were conducted Sat. afternoon, at 2 p.m. from the John L. Clark Cemetery in Gainesboro, Tenn. with Jack Honeycutt officiating. Her family and friends served as pallbearers. Irene was born September 14, 1943 in Clay County, TN, the daughter of the late Carson and Goldie Bilbrey Coons. She was married to Raymond Barnes, who preceded her in Death. She later married Alvis Stafford, who also preceded her in death. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joe L. and Junior Coons. She was a homemaker. Survivors include: Daughter, Ann Novak, Whitleyville, Tenn., Step-son, Sonny Barnes, Red Boiling Springs, sisters & brothers-in-law, Alma Sliger, Angela & Gary Doss, Roxie & Randy Ray, all of Lafayette, Ona Cherry, Lebanon, Tenn., Debbie & David Rockhill, Indianapolis, IN, Tina Colter, Gallatin, Tenn., Ruby & Joe Pharris, Hendersonville, Tenn., Jennie Daniels, Nashville, Tenn., brothers & sisters-in-law, Orell & Linda Coons, Leonard Community, Jack & Carrie Coons, Pelham, GA, Grandsons, T.C.
