James Thomas Sullivan, “Buddy”, 81

  James Thomas Sullivan, better known as “Buddy”, age 81, of the Fairview Community in Macon County, Tenn., passed away Fri., Feb. 6, 2009, at his residence. Funeral services for James “Buddy” Sullivan were conducted Sun., Feb. 8, 2009 from the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Jackie Stagner officiating. Timmy Sullivan, Tony Sullivan, David Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan, Phillip Sullivan, Eddie Sullivan, Jimmy Pedigo, and Kenneth Trent served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the Fairview Cemetery.

James was born one of two siblings to the late William David and Nervie Love Sullivan. He married the former Ida Mae Parker on June 5, 1948, sharing their lives together and raising one son, Ida Mae preceded him in death in 1987. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by; brothers, George Sullivan, Les Sullivan, Andy Sullivan, Cap Sullivan, Woodrow Sullivan, Jay Sullivan, and a sister, Clara Sullivan. James was a farmer all his life, and he loved to grow large gardens. He was a very active person enjoying; rabbit hunting, fishing, gathering with his friends to play Croquet and playing marbles, winning several tournaments during his life. He cherished his family; playing cards at night with his granddaughter, and spending time with his son. James was of the Missionary Baptist belief. He is survived by; son and daughter-in-law, James “Fuzz” (Karen) Sullivan, granddaughter, Amber Sullivan, all of the Fairview Community in Macon County, Tenn., brother, Richard Sullivan of the Siloam Community in Macon County, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews.
