Brandle Dyer, 76

Brandle Dyer, age 76, passed away February 19, 2009, at the Westmoreland Care and Rehab. Memorial services were conducted Sun., Feb. 22, 2009, from the chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home with Reverend Ron Bush officiating.

The Lafayette City Employees, City Council Members, Garden Club, and Lafayette Fire Department served as honorary pallbearers. Ivon Davis, Rodney Ellis, Jeff Halliburton, Jeremy King, Jack Hoskins, and Phillip Brawner served as active pallbearers. Interment followed in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Brandle Dyer was born one of eleven siblings, to the late Sidney and Emily Parker Dyer on Feb. 08, 1933 in Macon County, Tenn. He married the former Charlotte Gammon Dyer on January 25, 1969, sharing forty years together, Charlotte survives. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by; brothers, Randle, Arnett, Chester, Granville, S.M., and Jessie Dyer, and a sister, Myrtle Dyer. Brandle was an employee for the City of Lafayette for thirteen years, before retiring in 2000. Brandle was an outdoors man, who loved to work outside; he would water the flowers for the Garden club.  He loved going to church, singing gospel music, and playing his guitar.  Brandle loved and cherished being with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Dyer, sons, Bruce (Tina) Dyer, Tony Dyer, Monty Spencer all of Lafayette, daughters, Monica Russell of Lafayette, Markita Willis of Westmoreland, Hilda Smotherman, Maxine (Kevin) Schiefer all of Toney, AL, Tracy (Ali) Hajialilu of Hudson, FL, brothers, Charlie (Betty) Dyer of Hendersonville, Lawrence (Minnie) Dyer, and Carl Dyer all of Lafayette, sister-in-law, Lena Dyer, seventeen grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren.
