Hernandez Competes in Middle School Cross Country State Meet

By:  Coach Daniel Tucker

Logan Hernandez earned the right to represent her team at the Knoxville Track Club / State Meet on Saturday, October 16th.  She traveled to Knoxville on Friday, October 22nd, and she competed in the State Meet on Saturday, October 23rd.  In the girls’ varsity race, Logan finished 43rd with a time of 14:24.52.  Her race had 264 participants.

The Middle Tennessee region was very well represented at the meet, with 3 regional runners [Claudia Smith (Central), Jessica Rizor (T.W. Hunter), and Julia Rizor (T.W. Hunter)] finishing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.  Also for the region, we had 5 runners in the top ten and 2 teams in the top 5.

This concludes a successful season for the MCJHS Cross Country team and its runners.  The team looks forward to a return trip to the state meet next year, and they will begin preparations to accomplish this goal next summer.
