MCHS & RBS Defeat Trousdale County in High School Basketball

The Red Boiling Springs High School Basketball teams hosted Trousdale County on January 7, 2011 for another District 8A challenge.

In the girls game… RBS sealed their third District 8A victory after defeating the Lady Jackets of Trousdale County, with a final score of 69-48.

Layce Colter led the team to victory with 19 points, including three 3-pointers, followed by Heather Jenkins with 13 points, Morgan Burgener with 11 points, Kalisha Lynch with eight points, Marina Evans with six points, Katie Hix with five points, Hannah Hollis with four points, Mackenzie Painter with two points, and Mayson Burgener with one point.

In the boys game… the score remained close throughout the battle, however RBS held on until the final buzzer to claim a 51-49 victory over Trousdale County.

Wes Grace led the Bulldogs to victory with 28 points, followed by Allen Kirk with eight points, Jordan Meador and Shelton Watson with six points, Isaiah Washington with two points, and Jordan Grace with one point.

The Macon County High School Basketball teams hosted Trousdale County on January 4, 2011 for regular season play.

In the girls game… The MCHS Tigerettes exploded the first quarter 25-5 and never looked back to claim their 12th win of the season, 68-28.

Katelyn Bean led Macon County to victory with 14 points, followed by Kailyn Brooks and Terra Pryor with nine points each, Calamity Jane Coley and Kelsey Gregory with eight points each, Katie Reid with five points, Jade Ellis with four points, Haley Harris and Macey Kemp with three points each, Katie Beth Meador and Whitney Wilburn with two points each, and Michaela Thompson with one point.

In the boys game… The Yellow Jackets opened the first quarter with a 20-13 lead, however the Tigers were able to make a comeback before the halftime break to lead 29-28. Stepping up their game in the last half, Macon County was able to pull away from Trousdale County (3-12) for a 59-47 win.

Dallas Grace led the Tigers to victory with 20 points, followed by Trey McPherson with 11 points, Dalton Shrum with ten points, Zack Billenstein with six points, Tyler Manning with five points, Andrew Kempf with four points, and Mic Wise with three points. With the win, the Tigers improved their season record to 9-6.
