Buzzer Beater Wins James C. Haile Championship

The Macon County Junior High School Tigerettes paved their way through the James C. Haile Invitational Basketball Tournament to face Dekalb County in the championship game on January 29, 2011.

The Jr. Tigerettes improved their unblemished season record to stand at 15-0 after defeating Dekalb in the final moment of the championship battle with a final score of 32-30.

Dekalb County held a 15-13 advantage over the Tigerettes after the first half of play, however Macon County returned after the break to slip past their opponent, 24-21.

With 4.2 showing on the game clock in the fourth quarter, Macon County was trailing 30-29, when  Tigerette Brilley Driver nailed a 3-point shot to win the game.

Leah Anderson and Reese Shrum led the team in scoring with nine points each, followed by Emilee Harris with eight points, Briley Driver with five points, and Marissa Owens with one point.
