RBS Defeats Gordonsville in Last District 8A Game of 2011 Season

The Red Boiling Springs High School Basketball teams entertained Gordonsville High School on February 11, 2011 for their last home game of the season, and improved their record with two wins.

The Lady Bulldogs won by a score of 53-47 and the Bulldogs won with a score of 63-56.

Heather Jenkins led the team with 20 points, followed by Layce Colter with 19 points, Mackenzie Painter with three points, Katie Hix with four points, Hannah Hollis with two points, and Morgan Burgener with nine points.

Wes Grace led the team with 31 points, followed by Andrew Mullinix with 13, Shelton Watson with 10, Jordan Meador with six points, and Aaron Francis with three points.

RBS Splits Wins with Trousdale Co.

The Red Boiling Springs High School Basketball teams traveled to Trousdale County on February 8, 2011 for two District 8A challenges.

In the girls game… The Lady Bulldogs added their 24 win after defeating the Lady Jackets with a final score of 55-46.
With the win, Red Boiling Springs girls clinched the top seed in District 8A.

Layce Colter led the team with 24 points, followed by Morgan Burgener with 14 points, Heather Jenkins with nine points, Mackenzie Painter with five points, and Katie Hix with three points.

In the boys game… The Bulldogs opened the game with an 11-8 advantage, and by the halftime break, Trousdale County was left trailing 25-21. The Yellow Jackets returned in the third quarter to acquire a 33-31 lead over the Bulldogs. In the final period, Head

Bulldog Coach Micheal Owens commented his team just could not buy a basket, as Trousdale County out scored Red Boiling Springs 17-7, for a 50-38 victory.

Wes Grace led the Bulldogs with 18 points, followed by Jordan Meador with nine points, Andrew Mullinix with four points, Matt French and Shelton Watson with two points each, and Jordan Grace with one point.

This game was an upset for RBS, as the Bulldogs out-ranked their Trousdale opponent (7-19) with a regular season record of 16-11.

RBSHS Ends Season at Westmoreland

The Red Boiling Springs High School Basketball teams traveled to Westmoreland on February 12, 2011 for two make-up regular season games.

In the girls game… The Red Boiling Springs Lady Bulldogs were able to claim their 26th victory after defeating Westmoreland (21-6) in over time by a final score of 40-39.

Layce Colter led the Lady Bulldogs with 12 points, followed by Heather Jenkins with 10 points, Morgan Burgener with nine points, Mackenzie Painter with four points, Marina Evans with three points, and Katie Hix with two points.

The RBS Lady Bulldogs stand at 26-4 for the season, and first place in District 8A. Congrats Girls!

In the boys game… Bulldog and Eagle fans witnessed another close game last Saturday night, with each team adding baskets back-to-back. However after four quarters of play, the Eagles were able to claim their 11th win, after defeating Red Boiling Springs with a final score of 44-30.

Wes Grace led the Bulldogs with 14 points, followed by Shelton Watson with seven points, Aaron Francis with three points, and Andrew Mullinix, Jacob Wheat, and David Williams with two points each.

The Bulldogs now stand at 17-12 for the regular season, and third place in District 8A.
