MCHS Tiger Alumni Football
It’s football time in Tennessee! It’s time to button up the helmets, strap on the shoulder pads and get ready for some football action! There will be an alumni football game between Macon County and Smith County on Saturday, May 21 here at Pat Parker Memorial Field. This will be a game for any alumni of the MCHS Tiger football program, and is sponsored by the Macon County Football Booster Club. Anyone that is interested in playing for the Tigers once again, needs to contact Coach Mark Pemberton, head coach of the MCHS football team at 666-2020 or David Phillips at 666-7230. There will be a meeting held on March 14 at 7 p.m. at the MCHS Football Field on Meador Drive for anyone interested in playing, cheerleading, or finding out more information. All proceeds will go to the Macon County Tiger Football Program.
MCHS Tiger’s Ham Breakfast
Macon County Football Ham Breakfast will be held on Saturday, March 12 at Lafayette Elementary School, from 6 a.m. – 10 a.m. Help support your Macon County Tigers and come out for breakfast with this year’s coaches and players. All you can eat for $6 a plate. Delivery available inside the city limits by the football players. Menu consists of Country Ham, Sausage, Scrambled Eggs, Gravy, Biscuits, Milk, or OJ.
Men’s & Women’s Adult Basketball League
There will be a men’s and women’s basketball league started this year, that will play during the months of March and April. The games will be played at Lafayette Elementary School. There will be a meeting held on Monday night, March 7, for anyone interested in playing or putting a team in this league. For more information, please call 666-7230.
Macon Co. Youth Soccer
There is a MCSL coaches meeting planned for Saturday, March 5th. Coaches will be receiving a call from the league this week. Parents should be hearing from their coaches that weekend or early the following week. The first practice is scheduled for Saturday, March 12th.
Youth Softball Try-outs
Try-outs for the Macon Parks & Recreation Association Girl’s Youth Softball League will be held March 5 & 12 at the Harvey George Field. 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. (13-16 age); 12 p.m. – 2 p.m.. (9-12 age); 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. (5-8 age). New applicants or all those moving up to the next division must be present for at least one of these try-outs. All girls going into players draft must try-out, no exceptions. Try-outs will be conducted rain or shine (if rain occurs, signs will be posted at the field about the inside location.)
