Tigerettes End Season at District

The MCHS Tigerette Softball team ended the season at the district tournament at Sycamore High School. After winning the opening game against Sycamore on Thursday the 5th, the girls from Lafayette ran into a buzz-saw. On Monday the 9th, Goodpasture defeated MCHS by a score of 9-0 in five innings. MCHS managed only three hits by Howser, Reid, and Lancaster in a superb pitching effort by Goodpasture’s Kneeper.

The Tigerettes would face the Eagles of Westmoreland the next day to try to remain in the tournament. There is an old adage that says it is hard to beat the same team three times in a row. Macon had beaten Westmoreland by a total of 25 to 5 in two games. However the only one that mattered did not fare well for Macon. Westmoreland held an early advantage and by the fourth inning led five to one. The Tigerettes did manage to close the score at five to four but could not hold off the final push from Westmoreland. The final score ended 7 to 5 Eagles and the season for MCHS comes to a close.

Congratulations to the MCHS Tigerette Softball team on a great season.
