MCHS & RBS Golf Action

  The Macon County Golf Team traveled to Old Hickory, Tennessee on Monday
8/22/11 to attend the Davidson Invitational Golf Tournament held at Old Hickory
Golf Course.

  There were 119 players (15 Boy teams
and 11 girl teams) in attendance. Our MCHS Boys team competed against schools
such as Pope John Paul II, Clarksville High School, Hendersonville High,
Brentwood Academy, Goodpasture, Central Magnet, Franklin Road Academy, Beech,
Ezell Harding, Davidson Academy, Davidson Christian Academy, Battleground Academy,
Greenbrier and Father Ryan. Of the 15 Boy teams, Macon County placed tied for
5th along with Greenbrier High School with a score of 324 for 18 holes.
Individual scores were Ian Whittemore 75, Zach Polston 77, Larken Whittemore
85, Collin Linville 87 and Trey Reid 91.

 

  There were 11 girl teams in
attendance also. Macon County placed 4th among the above teams with a total
score of 164. Individuals were Kaitlin Cartwright 75, Lauren Gammons 89 and
Kaleigh Chitwood 90.

 

  On 8/25/2011 Macon County hosted
Westmoreland High School and RBS at Macon County Golf Course. The MCHS Boys won
with a total of 133, Westmoreland scored a 180 and RBS 228. Since par for the
course at Macon County is 35, having three members score under par is very
good. Ian Whittemore 32 (3
under par); Austin Williams 33
(2 under Par); Larken Whittemore 33
(2 under Par); Zach Polston 35
(even par); Collin Linville 40; Trenton Duffer 40; Kurtis Butcher 41; Trey Reid
42; and Ryan Thompson 46.  RBS boy’s
individual scores were Cameron Wilson 44, Spencer Tuck 55, Bailey Chapman 55,
Cody Gravens 64 and Ethan Norman 67.

 

 
The MCHS Girls won also with a total of 78, RBS 101. MCHS girls
individuals scored: Kaitlin Cartwright 37, Kaleigh Chitwood 41, Lauren Gammons
41, Leah Johnson 43 and Delaney Johnson 47. RBS Girls individual scores were
Victoria Rich 46, Savanna Green 55, Marina Evans 58, Mackenzie Comer 58 and
Samantha Snow 59.
