MCHS Girls at State Tournament

The MCHS girls golf team took
4th place in the Class A-AA State Golf Championship held at Willowbrook Golf
Club in Manchester, TN on 9/27/ and 9/28/2011.

This tournament is a 36 hole
tournament with eight teams and 32 individuals for a total of 52 players. Macon
County scored a total of 342 with 1st place going to Signal Mountain total 322,
Christian Academy of Knoxville 327, Milan 341, Macon Co. 342, Boyd Buchanan
356, Hickman Co 356, Grainger 369 and Trinity Christian 406.

 
The Macon Co. girls individuals scored: Kaitlin Cartwright 81-81 total
of 162, Kaleigh Chitwood 94-86 total of 180 and Savannah Knight 102-86 total of
188. Kaitlin’s score was the 9th lowest of the tournament with Kaleigh tied
24th and Savannah tied 30th. The girls went to this tournament last year only
to finish in 6th place as a team, this year finishing 4th.

  The entire MCHS Golf program would like to thank
everyone for all their support during the season. This has been our best season
yet and we have so much more to look forward to and have high expectations for
next year from both teams.
