MCJHS Travels to RBS
By Mark Darnell
On Monday November 14th, Macon County Junior High School traveled to take on their in-county rivals, the Red Boiling Springs Bulldogs.
In the Boy’s game, the pressure of the press seemed to determine the outcome early. MCJHS was able to play an up-tempo game, getting turnovers and converting them into points. By halftime the Tigers were able to post a 25-11 lead over the Bulldogs. Too much athleticism and quickness doomed the Bulldogs and the final tally was MCJHS 49 RBS 28. Scoring for the Tigers was: Evan Perrigo 19, Clay Carnahan 3, Kendrick Carter 6, Trace McPherson 9, Gene Carman IV 10, and Jedediah Coley 2. Matt Austin, Michael Ashburn, Matt Hudson, Dillon Swindle, Trevor Swindle, Nick Hill, and Tanner Lowhorn all played but did not score.
In the Girl’s game, the Junior High Tigerettes came out on fire. They were able to post twenty one points in the first quarter and only allowed two baskets on defense. With their pressure, they never looked back. Coach Beam started getting players in and out early as a lot of girls got some quality minutes with everyone on the roster seeing action. Final score was MCJHS 46 RBS 21. Scoring for MCJHS were: Lindsy Belton 13, Paige Clark 13, Abby Welch 4, Kenzie Green 3,Jenna Russell 4, Jordan Hoskins 4, Lucy Allen 3, & McKenzie Mercer 2. Kasssidy Brooks, Jordan Shockley, Brandi Garmon, Sarah Carter, & Allie Dixson all played but did not score.
