MCHS too Much for Gordonsville

  The Tigers from Smith County came calling on Friday night. MCHS had little trouble with Gordonsville in a lop-sided victory.



  MCHS opened the game, scoring early and often. They were able to put up 26 points in the first quarter behind a balanced scoring attack with seven Tigers scoring in the quarter. After the first period the score was MCHS 26 GHS 11. Both teams picked up the defensive intensity as the scoring pace slowed in the second. At the half the Tigers were well in control by a score of 34 to 16. Coach Welch was able to start playing his reserves early in the third period and the Tigers easily handled the Tigers from Gordonsville. Final score was MCHS 68 Gordonsville 30.

  Scoring for the Tigers was: Andrew Kempf 1, Trey McPherson 12, Dallas Grace 19, Dalton Shrum 6, Brantley Russell 8, Aaron Carter 9, Tyler Clark 5, Dillon McCormick 4, Daniel Gregory 1, and Austin McClard 3. Peyton Clark, Justin Tucker and Mason Shrum all played but did not score.
