MCJHS Tigerettes Place Second in Christmas Tourney

  The Macon County Junior High Girls were participating in a Christmas tournament at Carroll-Oakland in Lebanon from the 6th thru the 10th of December. The Tigerettes finished in second place.



  On the 6th, MCJHS faced Mt. Juliet Christian. Macon crusied to a 43-12 vistory. Scoring was: Lindsey Belton 5, Kassidy Brooks 10, Paige Clark 5, Abby Welch 7, Brandi Garmon 2, Kenzie Green 8, Sarah Carter 2, Lucy Allen 2, and Allie Dixon 2. Jordon Shockley, Jenna Russell,  and Jordan Hoskins all played but did not score.

  On the 8th, Macon faced the host Carroll-Oakland. The Tigerettes gutted out a victory over a pretty evenly matched team. The final score was MCJHS 41 COM 39. The Tigerettes outscored their opponed 14-10 in the final period. Scoring were Belton 8, Brooks 2, Shockley 4, Clark 10, Welch 14, and Allen 3.

  On Saturday the 10th Macon was to face Carroll-Oakland as the winner of the loser’s bracket in the double elimination tournament. In another two closely contested games,  Carroll-Oakland was able to beat the Tigerettes in back-to-back games by a combined 5 points.

   Macon County received the second place award for the girls. Belton, Clark and Welch were recognized for their play during the tournament.
