Tigerettes Handle Gordonsville

By Mark Darnell

On Friday December 9th, MCHS hosted the Gordonsville Tigers. The game marked the first home game in Nera White Gymnasium this season.

Coach Beam’s Tigerettes came out with their foot on the gas. MCHS converted on eleven of fifteen shooting attempts in the first quarter. The girls also played some tough defense and at the end of one the score was MCHS 25 GHS 9. The intensity dropped off a little but Macon was able to keep Gordonsville at arm’s length, with a score of 35-22 at the half. Coach Beam was able to empty the bench in the second half as everyone was able to play. The game marked the return of MCHS guard Kelsey Gregory  as the Tigerettes coasted to a 54-35 win over Gordonsville.

Scoring for MCHS was: Kailyn Brooks 2, Terra Pryor 13, Katie Reid 13, Katelyn Bean 3, Calamity Coley 17, Michaela Thompson 4, and Jade Ellis 2. Briley Driver, Reese Shrum, Kelsey Gregory, Whitney Wilburn, Macy Kemp, Alyssa Tuck, and Leah Anderson all played but did not score.
