Lady Dogs Roll Over Webb School

By: Wally Etheridge

Fresh from a comeback win over district rival Watertown on Tuesday night the Red Boiling Springs Lady Bulldogs would step out of the district on Friday night and welcome The Webb School to the Lady Bulldogs home court seeking revenge for a loss earlier in the year on The Webb School floor.

The Lady Bulldogs would be the team celebrating a big win on Homecoming night beating The Webb School girls 67-47.

Thanks to a career night from Morgan Burgener who put up 26 points on 8 of 11 field goal attempts and a perfect night from the charity stripe sinking 10 out of 10 Morgan would have the kind of night that brought a large thank you from the Lady Bulldogs fans. Morgan would get plenty of support as Katie Hix would chip in with 15 points and Kalisha Lynch added 13 points as the only Lady Bulldogs to score in double figures.

The Webb School girls were still in this game trailing only 29-20 at half-time but the Lady Bulldogs would put this game away in the third quarter outscoring the visitors 19-11 and take a 48-31 lead into the fourth quarter. The Lady Bulldogs would add 19 more points in the fourth quarter giving them 38 points for the second half which is a season high. Lady Bulldog coach Larry White would clear his bench early in the fourth quarter and 8 Lady Bulldogs would put points on the scoreboard.

The Lady Bulldogs would also shoot a season high 67 percent from the floor and knock down 18 out of 24 free throws, which is also a season's best. Another season high would be the 20 out of 24 from 2-point range and 3 of 10 from 3-point range.
Lady Bulldog scoring beside the big three were: Mayson Burgener-6 points, Kristen Davis along with Kaitlyn McCarter and McKinze Hix would have 2 points each. Mackenzie Sadler finished with 1 point. Kelsey Jenkins played valuable minutes but failed to score.

The Lady Bulldogs now find themselves tied for second place in district 8A with Trousdale County and the Lady Jackets coming to Red Boiling Springs on Tuesday night February 7th. The Lady Bulldogs now welcome district rival Friendship Christian Tuesday night January 31st.
