Tigerettes Pick-Up Three More Wins

  The Macon County Tigerettes improve to 21-4 on the season, picking up two wins over Sycamore and one against Greenbrier. They are in a tie for first in District 9 AA with a record of 7-1.



  On Jan 30th MCHS traveled to Sycamore to make-up the game scheduled for the 13th, cancelled due to weather. The Tigerettes were led by Kailyn Brooks, scoring 10 of her game high 19 points in the first period. Macon stuck some stingy defense on the War Eagles, allowing only 5 points in the entire second quarter. At the half the score was MCHS 33 Sycamore 15. Sycamore would try and make  a run but the Tigerettes would steam ahead en route to a 65-41 victory.

  Scoring were: Kelsey Gregory 6, Kailyn Brooks 19, Terra Pryor 12, Katie Reid 8, Calamity Coley 16, and  Katelyn Bean 4. Reece Shrum, Briley Driver, Whitney Wilburn, Michaela Thompson, Macy Kemp, Alyssia Tuck, Leah Anderson, and Jade Ellis all saw action but did not score.

  The Tigerettes traveled to Greenbrier on Jan 31st.  This game featured the first and last place teams in District 9 AA and the Tigerettes had the game well in hand at the half. Balanced scoring from Gregory, Reid, Pryor, Coley and Brooks staked MCHS to a 49-24 lead at half. Coach Beam was able to empty his bench in the second half and Macon ran away with the 73-41 victory.

  Scoring were: Gregory 2, Brooks 11, Pryor 18, Reid 12, Coley 14, Bean 4, Driver 2, Thompson 2, Tuck 3, and Anderson 5. Shrum, Wilburn, Kemp, and Ellis all played but did not score.

 Macon hosted Sycamore on Friday night February 3rd. The Tigerettes jumped out to a 21-9 lead at the end of one with all five of the starters scoring. The lead was extended at halftime 40-24, despite some sloppy play by the Tigerettes with quite a few turnovers. The starters played sparingly through the third as the clock kept running. The final score was MCHS 66 Sycamore 46.

  Scoring were: Gregory 2, Brooks 9, Pryor 18, Reid 2, Coley 24, Bean 5, Wilburn 2, Kemp 2 and Anderson 2. Driver, Thompson, Tuck, Ellis, and Reece (with a C) Shrum all played but did not score.

  Macon will travel to White House on Feb 7th and host Westmoreland for Senior Night on Feb 10th.
