Tigers Drop Three at Wilson Invitational

The Macon County Tiger Baseball team traveled to Lebanon this past week.

They played in the Wilson County Invitational in three games from Wednesday to Saturday. An abundance of talented high school teams came to play like Murfreesboro Oakland, Station Camp, Ezell-Harding, Lebanon High, Smyrna, Gallatin, Hendersonville, CPA, Franklin Road Academy, Trousdale County, Creek Wood, Portland, Mt. Juliet, Beech, and White House.
Unfortunately the Tigers dropped all three games. On Wednesday the 21st MCHS met Wilson Central. Coach Clariday’s team just couldn’t generate the offense needed and the team was handed a 2-6 loss. After the rain pushed back all games on Thursday, on the 23rd Macon would face Clarksville Northwest. Once again bad luck and some defensive breakdowns would contribute to a second loss. On Saturday the 24th Station Camp would tangle with the Tigers. The bats would pick up some and a battery of pitchers would keep Station Camp honest. However in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Bisons would score the winning run and hand the Tigers their third loss by a final score of 5-6.
This week the Tigers are scheduled to play three more games. They will begin District 9AA play at Westmoreland on the 26th and host the Eagles on the 27th. On Friday the 29th, Macon will once again travel to Smith County whom they defeated earlier in the season.
