MCHS Trap Team Competes In AIM 2012 Grand Nationals

The Macon County Tigers Trap Team traveled to Sparta, IL August 6 and 7 to compete in the 2012 AIM Grand National Trap Competition.

Over 1,000 young shooters from across the United States competed in the 2 day event with the Tigers squad 2 earning 3rd place in division two while three other athletes earned individual first place honors.

Kelsey Bullington lead 2 to their 3rd place finish hitting 188 of 200 targets in the event followed by Ryan Minchey with a 183, Jon Tucker 182, Kelsey Cook 175 and David Richardson at 173. Individually first year shooters Ryan Minchey and Dalton Driver tied for 1st place honors in Junior Division 3 with David Richardson tying for a 1st place finish in the Junior Division 5 category.

Overall, Matthew Minchey led the team with a score of 197 of 200 targets followed by Kelsey Bullington’s 188, Colton Kirby 185, Ryan Minchey 183, Dalton Driver 183, Jon Tucker 182, Tyler Knight 180, Dylan Brawner 180, Austin Mathews 178, Kelsey Cook 175, Maggie Sircy 173, David Richardson 173, Eli Doss 168, Jackson Sircy 166 and Brock Rutan 150.

The annual trip to the Grand closes out another outstanding season for the team. The team would like to thank the businesses and everyone in the community who has supported the program this past year. We will begin training for the 2013 season beginning in September. High school students interested in joining the team must have completed the TWF hunter safety course.
