MCHS Cross Country Season Underway
Over 760 high school and middle school athletes from the mid-state competed in seven different races. The high school races featured 463 while the middle school had an impressive 297 runners.
Macon County High School had a strong showing from both its teams. The Girls finished in a tie for 2nd but lost the tie-breaker with a score of 85 behind Station Camp and Murfreesboro Riverdale in a race that featured 15 teams. Katie Swindle finished 4th with a time of 21:24, Katie Hix finished 6th in 21:47, Jasmine Chaparro finished 8th in 22:10, Logan Hernandez finished 21st in 23:46, Alisa Givins finished 49th in 25:30, Maddy Miller finished 55th in 26:09, and Angela Whisenhunt finished 61st in 26:25. In the JV race Jessica Seehafer finished 21st in 28:07, Abi Welch finished 60th in 35:02 and Karla Whisenhunt finished 63rd in 38:09
The MCHS Boys managed to finish in 13th place out of 20 teams with a score of 349 points. Jeff Maynard finished 38th with a time of 19:26, Dylan Meador finished 57th in 19:58, Carson Cunningham finished 79th in 21:11, Christopher Bullington finished 92nd in 21:29, Baughn Swayer finished 97th in 22:06, John Case finished 129th in 27:18 and Tyler Napier finished 130th in 27:40.
